International project: Iodine Deficiency Disorder In 1994, Kiwanis International made a promise to the world's children: Kiwanis and its Kiwanis family will raise $75 million to virtually eliminate the world's most prevalent, preventable cause of mental retardation, iodine deficiency disorders (IDD). 84 MILLION NEWBORNS ARE ANNUALLY PROTECTED AGAINST IDD 38 MILLION NEWBORNS ARE ANNUALLY UNPROTECTED AGAINST IDD .

We raise funds through our: Annual Chicken Barbecue - 3rd Saturday in July and 2nd Saturday in December Annual Rose Sale - Friday before Thanksgiving We manufactured a Penjoy Truck to raise funds for IDD

We sponsor a high school service organization: Donegal Key Club, Donegal High School, Mount Joy We sponsor a middle school service organization: Builders Club, Donegal Middle School, Mount Joy We sponsor an elementary school service organization, K-Kids at Maytown Elementary School, Maytown We established an endowed scholarship: At Elizabethtown College:to honor the memory of Allen G. Kemp, Jr., a charter member of the club.
